What is Reflexology

Reflexology is a non-invasive, complimentary therapy that has been practiced for centuries across the world. It has even been cited as a therapy used in ancient Egypt and China.

The practice is based on the principle that we have points in our hands, feet, ears and face which correspond to all the organs and glands in our body. By applying specific pressure to these areas, it is possible to restore balance to your body and mind and offer you a deep sense of relaxation.

  • Increase blood supply and improve circulation
  • Help to rid the body of toxins

Who Can Have Reflexology?

Anyone of any age can have reflexology treatments.

However, there are some times when patients should not be treated. This includes, during early pregnancy, if a patient has a foot injury, an open wound to the foot or blood clotting issues such as thrombosis or embolism.

Hello, my name is Ruth

I have been a MAR qualified reflexologist since 2017. I first discovered reflexology treatments following emergency surgery for an ectopic pregnancy in 2014.

I found the benefits of reflexology so transformative, that I decided to retrain and become a practitioner myself.

I completed my MAR training at the Maureen Burgess School of Reflexology in East Grinstead and I am now a fully qualified reflexologist and a member of the Association of Reflexologists.

After giving birth to my second child, and receiving reflexology throughout the pregnancy, I chose to complete further training in maternity reflexology in 2019 with the wonderful Sally Earlam.

I have since completed training to support women through the menopause and in auricular (ear) reflexology.

I have treated many people with a variety of symptoms and ailments and I am still amazed at the healing power of the practice.
